A beautifull is something that is very attractive or pleasing to the eye. It can be a person, place or thing. A beauty is often associated with a certain level of perfection and order. This can also include a certain amount of harmony, balance or proportion. There is a popular saying that beauty is in the eyes of the beholder, meaning that one person may find something beautiful while another person may not.
In the Western tradition, ideas about beauty have gone in and out of fashion over the centuries. Some of these changes have been evolutionary, with new insights being gained and old ones lost as philosophies of beauty evolved. However, the basic thrust of the notion of beauty has remained fairly constant. Up until 1700 CE, beauty was generally discussed in the context of other concepts such as goodness and truth. The notion of the beautiful was seen as providing privileged access to experiences of interpersonal immediacy and wholeness that would not be available otherwise, giving individuals glimpses into their own personal mysteries of consciousness and allowing them to develop their moral and artistic potentialities.
The classical conception of beauty emphasizes the arrangement of integral parts into an integrated harmonious whole according to notions of proportion, harmony and symmetry. This was a fundamentally important Western philosophical idea that is reflected in many classic and neo-classical works of art, architecture and literature. It was also an important part of the European Enlightenment, where it was a major focus for thinkers like Kant and Hume.
More recent studies have shown that people’s judgments of beauty are influenced by their own personal values and beliefs. For example, a study showed that participants who believed that the universe was created by God rated natural objects as more beautiful than those who did not believe this. In addition, a study done by psychologists showed that when people rate pictures of other people as beautiful, they make their judgments based not only on what they see but also on what they know about the person.
For example, if they know that the person is generous and kind, they will judge them as beautiful. Similarly, if they know that the person is very intelligent, they will also rate them as beautiful. A further study showed that when people are given information about the personality traits of someone who is being rated as beautiful, they will be more likely to view the person as physically attractive.
The word beautifull comes from the Latin adjective beaute, which means “full of beauty”. Some synonyms for the word include lovely, charming and pretty. Some people consider a person to be beautiful if they have a sense of style, are well dressed and have a good posture. Some physical features that people find attractive in others are their eyes, smile and skin tone. Other physical features that are considered to be beautiful in men and women include body symmetry, height, clear complexion, and vivid color of the eyes and hair.
